Keynote Speaker

Rev. Bruce Burnside is bishop of the South-Central Synod of Wisconsin, Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. A comment from Bishop Burnside: "The ministry of advocacy is in our blood and bones and sinews because we believe God has placed us in community with the poor, the hungry, the voiceless, the alien, the oppressed, the sick, the weak, the beleaguered, and yes even the one we fear as foe. When we hear the words of the prophets, our faith tradition demands that our voices echo their cries for justice."
