Summer of Solidarity Training Session: “Environmental Justice”

Date:
Saturday, August 22, 2020 - 10:00am - 12:00pm
Location:
Zoom Webinar

These are weekly Zoom meetings sponsored by WISDOM and EXPO covering community organizing approaches and social justice topics of concern in the state and region during the summer of 2020. August 22 is the last scheduled session.

Discussions of the environment are very strongly connected to discussion of racial and economic equity.  When we degrade the natural world that sustains our life, the first people to be hurt are low-income folks, people of color and other people who are marginalized by those in power and distorted social and economic systems. (To make it even a little worse, there is a widely-believed false narrative that anti-environmental policies are somehow creators of jobs for working people. Not only is that narrative false, it is part of the insidious effort to divide us.)

To sign up for this Saturday, please fill out this form:   https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZYpcOmqqTwsGdGmQRCSxffroqKHWetS7_RS

Presentations are being recorded, and are available at: https://www.rocwisconsin.org/summer-of-solidarity-training-series/
