2022 ESTHER Banquet Update

Unfortunately, the ESTHER Banquet will not happen this year.

No Banquet PostcardLast fall, ESTHER volunteers rescheduled the banquet from November to February because of the Delta surge. Then in December, Omicron reared its ugly head. Volunteers wondered if hosting a banquet in February was the right thing to do.

Then came a phone call around the first of the year, when we learned that Liberty Hall had just been sold to an anonymous buyer. In two weeks, the doors would be closed for good.

So ESTHER will not be hosting a banquet this year…but we have a new plan!

Welcome, everyone, to ESTHER’s non-party!

  • You will not get to hug anyone.
  • You will not get to eat in a large public venue.
  • But if you donate $50.00 or more to ESTHER before February 28 you will receive a complimentary copy of Pardeep Kaleka’s book The Gifts of Our Wounds, co-written with former skinhead Arno Michaleis.
  • You will be able to read, from the comfort of your own home, a copy of ESTHER's 2022 yearbook and see what happened through your interfaith social justice organization last year.
  • You will also be able to anticipate attending ESTHER’s Fall Event, happening September 15 at Jefferson Park in Menasha where Pardeep has graciously offered to be our keynote speaker, again.

Thank you for your generous support. ESTHER looks forward to seeing you in September!
