Juneteenth is the oldest national program commemorating the ending of slavery in the United States. African Heritage, Inc. (AHI), in collaboration with the City of Appleton, is hosting its seventh annual Juneteenth Celebration on June 19, 2016 in downtown Appleton. The family-friendly program will feature musical, dance and poetry performances. Stop by and see us at the ESTHER booth!

A major highlight will be the Children‘s Village, an arena of fun, educational, exploratory, and interactive cultural activities for young children with:

  • face painting
  • story telling
  • puppet shows
  • balloon artistry
  • train ride
  • hip-hop dance demonstration
  • Black history trivia
  • science programs
  • and many other activities.

There will also be a community resource fair featuring fifty area organizations and food/retail vendors, including ESTHER. More info at African Heritage Inc.
