Interfaith Festival of Gratitude: Community Gathering

Date:
Monday, November 20, 2017 - 7:00pm - 8:30pm
Location:
Grand Opera House, 100 High S., Oshkosh

The theme for this year’s festival is “Welcome home.” Representatives from many different faith communities will share thoughts on how their faith traditions offer hospitality to other people.  Proceeds from the free will offering will benefit Day by Day Warming Shelter in Oshkosh.

Copies of local author Beth Heuer’s book, Voices of Wisdom: A Story of Homelessness & Hope, will be on sale at the festival for $15.00, with all sales donated to the Day By Day Warming Shelter. The book portrays Heuer’s passion for addressing homelessness at the community level through a fictional story of a homeless individual, and a discussion of the myths of homelessness.

This is the 8th annual festival, the largest event of its kind in Wisconsin.

For more information about the festival, or if your faith community would like to take part, please contact Tom Willadsen, at (920) 235-6180, or pastor@oshkoshpresbyterians.org.

The festival will be preceded by an potluck at at the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community’s Mosque at 300 N. Eagle Street, beginning at 5:00 p.m.  People are encouraged to bring a dish to share that is special to their faith or ethnic group.  Plates, utensils and beverages will be provided. Guests are asked not to bring dishes that contain pork or alcohol.
