“The Changing Face of Race”
with Jesús G. Smith

Lawrence University professor of Ethnic Studies Jesús G. Smith will engage participants with “The Changing Face of Race,” a guided activity and discussion to help people understand that racial classifications are socially and legally constructed. Smith is a tenure track Assistant Professor, an Andrew W. Mellon Faculty Fellow, and Woodrow Wilson Career Enhancement Junior Faculty Fellow. His expertise centers on the intersection of race, gender performance, sexuality and health as they relate to online identity and relationships.

Nationally recognized antiracist, essayist, and author Tim Wise will deliver the keynote address, “Becoming an Antiracist,” and include a live Question & Answer session. Wise has spent the past 25 years speaking to audiences across the United States and is one of the most prominent antiracist writers and educators in the nation.
